Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed the six venues that will host F1 Sprint events during the 2026 season, including three new locations, and an official partnership with Gatorade.

While most of the 24-race season will follow the traditional Grand Prix weekend format, six events--about a quarter of the calendar--will feature an F1 Sprint. The Sprint is a short-format race covering 100 km (just over 62 miles), roughly one-third the distance of a Grand Prix, and lasting about 30 minutes. Sprint weekends are staged at circuits known for strong overtaking opportunities. Pit stops are permitted but generally not advantageous due to the race's short length.

The 2026 season will mark the sixth year of the Sprint format and coincide with the introduction of new technical regulations. The first Sprint will take place in Shanghai, followed by Miami, with both circuits hosting a Sprint for the third consecutive year. Silverstone returns to the Sprint schedule for the first time since the format's debut in 2021, while Montreal, Zandvoort, and Singapore will host their first-ever Sprint weekends.

"The F1 Sprint has continued to grow in positive impact and popularity since it was introduced in 2021. With four competitive sessions rather than two during a conventional Grand Prix weekend, F1 Sprint events offer more action each day for our fans, broadcast partners, and for the promoters--driving increased attendance and viewership," said Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1.

The FIA has also published the official start times for all 2026 Grands Prix, which can be found here.
